3.0 Freezing

I upgraded to 3.0 and everything freezes after printing a couple of layers. The previous version worked great. Is there a way to go back to the old version of the software?

you really dont want to go back. what is freezing. the printer or the software? are you printing with usb or sd card?

If you're printing over USB, it's always good to leave the Machine Control Panel (Tools > Machine Control Panel) open with the communication window selected. If you're running a firmware such as Marlin or Repetier, your printer might be telling you something via serial which is causing it to lock up.

I'm having the same issues when printing from USB on my Flashforge Creator Pro. 2.2 almost NEVER froze when printing USB--i only use USB when its a fast (<2hr) print job.
With 3.0, i've got a 100% failure rate with USB printing.

i dont have the software or pc freeze at all but on the pc version when printing from usb i will get maybe 10-15 layers in, the printer stops for 5-10 sec then continues on flawlessly the rest of the print. not sure what that is about but it does happen almost every time. never had that happen prior. the mac version does not do this at all.

didn't mention it.. but my version that has this problem is the mac version.

I started the old version and still have the problem. I suspect a stepper driver or something is flaking. It seems that S3d keeps the old version intact when you install version 3.0 so all you have to do is restart the old program. It didn't freeze before, but the failure timing may be coincidental.
