can't access SD card

When I click "print from SD card" it defaults to my laptop. It kept defaulting to old prints. I removed all print files from the G-Code Library in "Creator" and then all prints on the computer so there was only 1 print file and it was on the SD card. What to do?

Well, not being able to print from the card I defaulted to the laptop and there is the indicator with percent bar done and time left. How do I get that to show when printing from the SD card (once I figure out how)?

Re: can't access SD card

22,

You saw my reply on the General/Feature side of the board. One more note: When you use "Print from SD Card", basically the firmware of the printer has complete control. All Creator does is tell the firmware "open this file and print it" and then it's "Hands Off". Creator doesn't read the G-code from the card and has no idea how long it will take to print. Once you start it, you can yank the USB cable off and turn off your PC and your printer will keep on going.

NOTE: If you hit "disconnect" in the machine control panel or shut down your PC with the USB cable still connected, the firmware will do a "Reset" and e-stop everything, ending your print. You basically have to pull the USB cable FIRST if you want to print from SD Card and take your PC and walk away!

Another way to print from SD Card is to get an LCD display (like the Viki) and connect it to the RAMBo board. Then you can completely control the printer without a PC at all. But let's get your SD Card printing working first, shall we? ;)
