Does anyone know if it's possible to permanently change the steps in s3d in the firmware > x3g tab? Mine keep constantly resetting when close down simplify3d. And yes i click on save when exit.

You have 2 options
1) Click "edit process settings", go to G-Code tab, and disable the "update firmware configuration" options (as this is what is overriding your settings with the stock firmware config). If you disable the override then your settings won't change.
2) Create a firmware configuration for your machine. Go to tools --> firmware configuration, make whatever changes you need on the various tabs, then click Export at the top to create a .frm file. Now you can go back to the G-Code tab of your FFF settings and select this newly exported .frm file as the firmware configuration you want to use.

I have adjusted my steps per mm settings on the X3G tab and exported my revised firmware profile with a new name, NEW.FRM
But when I select this profile, the X3G tab is gone. If I want to further tweak my settings I have to go back to the default profile and re-export. Why?
Then, when I go to the G-Gode tab in my process settings and select NEW.FRM for the Firmware type, the GPX profile box is grayed out. Is the process using the revised X3G steps per mm settings I exported? Is it using the grayed out GPX profile?

Hello all,
i have the same issue.
@C-line: did you find a solution?
If anybody knows how to update the steps per mm settings directly on a CTC (Flashforge copy) with Sailfish 7.7 a short hint would be fine.
Thanks in advance,
Neo

The process does appear to use the selected firmware profile (e.g., NEW.FRM) and associated X3G steps per mm. You must de-select "Update Firmware Configuration" though, or the process will revert to the current settings under Tools>Firmware configuration.
I think the UI for this procedure could be improved, per my original comments.

Why would you want to manually adjust your steps/mm on a CTC? CTC is pre-configured and just a clone of a replicator 1 or replicator dual. If your having issues related to steps/mm I would be willing to bet you have selected a rep2 or rep2x profile somewhere. There is a one tooth difference on the drive gears between the two printers, if you select the wrong profile you will be 6% off on your dimensions. Your CTC printer is a clone of the replicator dual and regardless of what color the outside is, what material it is made of, and unfortunately what CTC itself has marketed, it is certainly not the closed source, copyrighted, trademarked rep2.

I'm using a Flashforge Creator Pro and did indeed find that I needed to make a small correction in my X3G steps/mm settings to get correct print dimensions. In fact, my X and Y axis steps/mm needed slightly different adjustments. And yes, I am using the correct firmware configuration (Replicator 1 - dual extruder).

I am using the latest 3.0.2 version of the software and the X3G tab doesn't disappear when I select the new firmware profile. So if it does for you, make sure you upgrade to the latest version. If you follow my instructions at the top of this thread, then the software will use the custom steps/mm settings you defined. I'm guessing the GPX profile is grayed out because it isn't using the stock Replicator 1 settings, it is using your modified values. I just tested it this morning and it works correctly following those instructions with version 3.0.2.

hi sorry but i have an ffcp with dual home made bowden bondtech extruder
i need to modify the step per unit in the firmware, but i don t know where?
when i push manually the filament i have only 70mm for 100mm ask
and if i use the multiplier extrusion in the process (1.42 for exemple), i have a strange thing, the base is underextrusion, but the shell is correct
and about the speed for print the unit is very strange exemple 6000mm/s for the move.....
