Trouble shoot ABS - HIPS Support print

Hi folks,

First post here. I am using a flashforge creator pro printer to try and do an ABS print with HIPS support material. I also have enclosed the entire machine with a big insulating box that I pre heat and keep sealed during the print. So, here are some pictures from the print. Some things to note about the setup, I have put the support fill percent to 55% and angled each layer by 45 degrees.

There are a number of issues with the print. It seems that the HIPS is being sucked in substantially and might also be too hot.

What do you all think?

Thanks

Support looks like its printing a little bit too close to the part surface too. :|
I believe you can adjust that with "Separation From Part - Horizontal Offset From Part" I haven't played with this setting myself..
but that's what the popup tip leads me to believe.

Your first layer, looks like your printing on glass? Might want to raise your print head up slightly your first layer is spread kinda wide..
Another option is to use a raft for that part of the issue..

edit:
nm, looks like your printing on the kapton tape I can see your anchor screw ;)

After some more thought, I wonder if there is too much heat building up in the part. With all the support in the middle, it is one big dense piece of plastic.

Here is the FFF file if anyone is curious.

I'm also just venturing into printing ABS/HIPS with a FF Creator Pro. The biggest problem I'm having is getting the HIPS to stick to the ABS. My ooze shield and prime pillar typically just fall apart after a few layers when one of the nozzles drags across them. There seems to be very poor layer adhesion between these materials. Any suggestions on how to improve this adhesion would be welcome :)

Just did an ABS w/ HIPS support print this afternoon. Only had model-on-model supports but I printed the ABS at 230 and HIPS at 240 with no separation layers and no dense layers. I had separation at .5mm and the print was very clean - the supports broke away like a dream as well. I believe I was printing around 50-60mm/sec with supports at 80% speed.
