RepRapPro Mendel 3

Hello,

i already serached in the forum but cant find anything which sounds like my problem.

First of all i have a RepRapPro Mendel 3 with Marlin Firmware running.
I cant find this Printer in the list, maybe im blind. if i doesnt exist, should i take other or what kind of printer.
The Printer works with Marlin on Arduione Due. I can connect with any ohter software, but not with Simplify3d

If i try to connect with Simplify3d, i get connection failed.
Attempting connection at \\.\COM9...
Testing plaintext communication protocol...
Testing binary communication protocol...
Testing alternate communication protocols...
Attempting RTS reset and trying again...
Connection failed.

Then i found some interessting thing:
i should disable the in Firmware Configuration -> Communication -> Wait for startup command

After that i can connect.
Attempting connection at \\.\COM9...
Connected to machine!

But, in the Jog Controls Tab, i can click any button, but nothing happens.

What im doing wrong, can anyone help ?

Regards,
Steven

Re: RepRapPro Mendel 3

Disabling the "wait for startup" option mentioned above worked for me. You also need to be sure that you have the Arduino Due drivers installed and that you select the correct baud rate in the machine control panel (I believe it should be 115200)

Re: RepRapPro Mendel 3

I've got a Tri colour RRP Mendel 3 which I use with S3D, and Ive even manged to extend the dual colour printing features to works on three extruders.

When setting up just use the other printer option and set the bed to 200x200 and it should be good to go

Don't bother using the S3D interface to control your printer it adds nothing to the printer, this is really for lower grade printer controllers that are basically just stepper motor drivers and use the PC to drip feed the code to the controller.

Your M3 should have a Duet controller, these can and do work very well without a PC connected, you just use the web interface to control the printer, you can also use this to upload the part program, or even use the FTP server, once the printer has the code loaded and its running you can just disconnect your computer and let the printer do it work.
