Suddenly left build plate?

So, after many days trying to get decent printing from my PET-G (which seems to block after the first x amount of layers), I had a good print going for about 40 minutes...
Then suddenly, the machine makes a "grrrrr" noise as the nozzle is trying to go way off the build plate on the Y axis (going negative)? Paused and unpaused the print - it then decided to go a bit of everywhere and printed what looked to be about the right paths but to the right of the actual object... Line 6455 is around where it messed up. The GCode preview doesn't seem to show any weird travel moves. Printing via USB.

Any ideas what happened?

Have you tried printing it over SD? USB printing is prone to communication errors, skipped instructions are not what you want after 4000ish perfect layers.

Hmm - I'll retry with SD - I've been printing via USB recently to allow me to easily use the jog controls and change temps/speeds/etc, though now that I'm on the Sailfish firmware I can do a lot of that via the printer. Thanks :)
