After installing simplify3D 3.0 on 3 computers (Windows) all my STL files are now associated with simplify3D and no longer to Crypto Shell Extensions. I need to have those files associated with Crypto Shell Extensions for updates, etc.. I have not been able to find a work around for this, any suggestions?

thanks,

I would recommend uninstalling Simplify3D 3.0.0 and installing Simplify3D 3.0.1. Also, I've only heard of this occurring with Internet Explorer, more modern browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox don't have these issues. You can also email Simplify3D support if you need more help on this.

Click Start and type in Default Programs go to Associate a File type with a program, select the .stl file, click Change Program and select Microsoft Crypto Shell

you also should be able to select Microsoft Crypto Shell by right clicking and going to open with menu.

that was the first thing I tried. "Crypto Shell Extension" isn't an option. I need a program/directory reference or a registry change.

thanks,
