Touchpad mouse won't rotate or zoom

My Asus Zenbook Win 8.1 laptop has a touchpad 2-button mouse pad. Everything works fine except I cannot rotate or zoom with Simplify3D 3.01. Other programs do this OK - like 3DTool-Free - and the touchpad mouse works OK for normal click/point/scroll operations.

The laptop has an i5 CPU, 8 GB RAM, and a 128 GB SSD boot drive that is only 1/3 full.

Device Manager says the touchpad is working OK and there is no driver update available. I get the same response with a USB desktop mouse attached to the laptop. Re-installing Simplify3D does not help. I have tried setting the laptop to both it's native screen resolution (1920x1080) and a lower resolution, but no change in behavior.

What else can I check that might indicate what the problem is?

Re: Touchpad mouse won't rotate or zoom

Hi bbinnard ,

I had a similar problem on my previous laptop. I couldn't zoom in or out due to two finger scroll not being a function of that touchpad. You can change what the keyboard/mouse shortcut is for various UI things from the Options menu, which you can open from the Tools dropdown menu. I found that I didn't need to change the shortcut I just needed to know what it was. To zoom it was Shift + Click and drag Left Mouse Button.

The menu looks like this:

I hope this helps you out. I was really happy when I figured it out a laptop or two ago.
