Repair Version 3.0 Profile Management

Profile management under version 3.0 has, in my opinion and given my work flow, taken a giant step backwards. I maintain a number of profiles and it is now a multiple step process to have these files saved in a location that is accessible to me for sharing and for backup purposes. I would like to see any one of several possible changes:

First, that customized profiles be automatically saved to a directory of my choice in a human readable format;
Second, lacking the above, an export all feature;
Third, lacking the above, have the export feature be smart enough to remember the name of the profile for the save file name (IT 101);
Fourth, lacking all of the above, to let the user know where the meta data for profiles is hidden on a MAC?

I'll second that.

I have always saved my profiles to a location of my choice that is regularly backed up.
This has now become a complete pain in the proverbial.
