What settings bring my lines closer together?

I'm noticing some gaps in the top layers of my models, but I don't think it's necessarily a printing failure - I think Simplify3d is slicing the models that way.

This seems borne out by the fact that on multiple prints, the pattern on the top layer is basically the same.

I'm using a .35 nozzle and the following settings:

Any ideas what I should be tweaking here? I feel like if I manually turn up my extrusion modifier it just obliterates the details.

You need to adjust your thin wall settings. Post your factory file and it will be easier to tell you exactly what changes to make (file > save factory file)

Aye aye!

The only thin wall settings I see on the 'advance' tab seem not to actually affect this.

Go to Infill tab, change outline overlap to 30%. It looks much better after that.

the problem here is the space ir gap is too narrow to put an extrusion in. Joe's recommendation is good and may work depending on exactly how narrow that gap is. If it were me i would reduce the amount of perimeters by 1. This will allow a bigger gap that the printer can put a top layer infill in. Anything with text on a top surface i usually try and do just 1 perimeter. It just makes for better top surfaces in detailed areas.
