Print off center - fixed - but Question...

My leapfrog creatr HS has been printing off center.

On the main screen (where you do the editing etc) it shows the model centered.
In the preview it shows the model centered.

When I print the model, it is a couple of inches off center on the Y axis - closer to the "zero axis" = closer to me as I am looking at the printer)

So,
I set the "global Gcode offset" to " y 30"

now
when the model is still centered in the main screen but shows it off center to the rear of the printer in the preview
but
It prints in the center of the machine just fine.

All is well...

Question is...

Why does this happen?

Is there a way to align it without the need for the global offset?
So it looks correct in the preview mode?

I don't care much about having to have the offset in the profile but would like it to look centered in the preview.

Thanks!

I had a similar problem, and fixed it by adjusting the X in the the Build Volume section of the G-Code tab. Though my issue was the model was printing closer to edge away from the toolhead home position... thus I decreased X from 298 to 290. Increasing the X-Axis could help your situation.

Normally the printer itself has an option in the firmware to set the X,Y,Z offsets. If they are configured right you should be able to use 0mm Offsets in S3D.
