Can someone make this print well?

I've been trying to print the attached factory file on my Robo 3D, but with no success. Even after changing a bunch of the settings, nothing looks good - just a jumbled mix of incoherent garbage.

Would it be possible to get this to work and print well at that size?

The part looks pretty simple to me. Estimated print time is 7 minutes. I'll try it tomorrow and post results. The only unexpected thing I saw was the extrusion thickness for the first layer was way fatter than for the rest. I've never tried this. Is it a good thing to do?

I was told to keep it fat to help the layer stick to the bed. I don't know if it is "good" but it seems to work ok for me.
Also my estimated print time is 15 minutes.
What type of printer do you have?

I have a delta-style printer that is not yet readily available in the US. I got one because i volunteered to be an "early adopter." Here's a link to the website:

There are a couple problems here:

1. The part is too small. The square base ends up being about 350 mm wide and the posts for the maze itself are way too small to be useful. I'd say is should be scaled up at least 3 - 5 times.

2. 3D Builder identified errors in the STL file, which it fixed, but of course said nothing about what the errors were. I'd suggest running the STL file through the Netfabb online repair service, or at least the free Netfabb software you can download yourself.

Also, since my printer is a lot different from the one defined in the Factory File I had to replace all the Factory File settings with the ones I use myself. This is not a big deal but is soemthing people need to be aware of anytime they import someone else's factory file.

If you're seriously wanting to print items this small and complex, you're going to have to use a much smaller nozzle. Either that...or design the parts you want bearing in mind the limitations of the printer when working at such a small size.

Having said that, it is possible to print small things with a 0.4mm nozzle...but they have to be designed to be printed. Here's an example of something I've been able to print:

As all ready noted it is a very small print and not really suited for FFF type of printing. I did this on my replicator 2.

I tried printing the part in a free slicing software (matter control) and it came out much better than in S3D. The size didn't seem to be a factor in that case.

My printer seems able to handle the part fairly well on another slicer. What am I doing wrong in S3D that I need to change?
