Better adhesion for support structures...

During the last two days I printed 2 parts with support structures... I had to cancel both prints twice because the support peeled off. For one part I used a brim and some of the support structure was printed on it AND STICKED PERFECTLY! :-)
My feature request would be a solid layer like the brim beneath support structures. Or (what I did manually) reduce speed and increase material for the first layer of support structures... But I think the brim-like layer would be better.
... anyone here with me? ;-) ...

Re: Better adhesion for support structures...

I do this on some of my prints. Just enable the raft, then change the raft layers to 1, raft infill to 90%, and disable the raft base layers. Now you will get only one solid layer printed below the part which can anchor the support structures.

You can also use a brim to do this as you mentioned

Thank you for this tip. Will try it for my next print :-)

Re: Better adhesion for support structures...

I 2nd this request, the support structures just don't stick well to the platform. Even when I prepare my platform so that all other surfaces stick almost too well, I often get supports breaking loose and ruining prints.

My "work arounds" have been:

1) use a really wide brim--this only works when you don't have interior supports as the brim is "outside only."

2) manually place thin flat models under all supports, which is time consuming.
