Infill % difference?

Good evening.. SO i just received my taz 5, my fourth printer.
I currently run a FlashForge Creator and a Makerfarm Prusa I3v

ONe thing i noticed is that while running a test print at 20% infill with the new printer it was a TON less dense than 20% is on my makerfarm. I know it shouldnt matter, but it does. If i choose 20% there is a 1/4 inch or so between the baffle boxes, before it was like 1/16th of an inch.

Any idea why this may be happening?
thanks

Well the infill is a literal settings. It determines how solid the part is. So if you have 20% infill, it should be 20% plastic and 80% air. S3D calculates that correctly, but it's possible your printer is under-extruding or something like that, which would make it look like it wasn't extruding very much.

In addition to what joe said, keep in mind that infill patters will be different as well. Some are printed every othe layer. Its calculated by volume so rectilinear will appear tighter than reg honeycomb because rectilinear is printed every other layer and honeycomb is every layer.

so for full disclosure, i own 4 printers. I do understand exactly how infill is calculated, however, and very strangely I had it set at 20% infil last night for full honeycomb and a 25x25mm cube had 1 honeycomb in it, and a little start on one side... It was more like 5% than 20%. Then i ran some reclilinear with the same issue. just a vast difference.
However, running it now on a different PC, etc, it appears to be just fine... very strange indeed.

so here is another example.. my finger for reference.. this is 25% infill, there is no way there is 25% filament and 75% air in this print.
either way, ill have to put it at like 65% to get what i need.
