Problematic STL

Untitled picture.png
One of my students designed this model using blender for me to print. However, when I open it in S3D, it has an extremely odd look to it. I have never encountered this type of view and I am not sure if it is problematic or not. When I look at the print preview it seems correct however, it will not allow me to put in support which leads me to think it won't actually print correctly. Thus, is this something I can fix with S3D or is it a bigger problem within the design. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Attached is the factory file for reference.

Re: Problematic STL

The most parts are only plane surfaces, they have no volume. You can not print it.

Re: Problematic STL

Run the .stl file through the cloud repair service: https://netfabb.azurewebsites.net/

It'll be okay then.
