Weird inverse layer?

Hi,

When I slice the attached STL (using 3 top layers, 3 bottom layers, 2 perims and 80% infill). Layer 3 appears to be the inverse of what is required, i.e. what should be solid is missing and where there is a hole it is filled in. Does anyone else see the same weirdness? Is it a slicer bug?

Sliced fine for me. Can you post your factory file (go to File > Save Factory File)? Maybe it's something in your settings...

Sorry, I forgot to say that the layer height should be 0.2mm.

Sorry, I forgot to say that the layer height should be 0.2mm, the problem doesn't occur when the layer height is 0.1mm or 0.3mm.

I think there's some errors in the mesh.

First thing, run the shape through the cloud repair service: https://netfabb.azurewebsites.net/

Report back on the results, please....

OK, here's the factory file.

No problem slicing this STL using Slic3r.

I'll repeat the solution:

Alternatively, change the layer height to 0.2001 .

Edit.
Having tried the repair service on this model...its one it doesn't appear to fix! The second way (changing the layer height by a small amount) does work, however.

Is the STL really broken? Neither slic3r or openscad's STL import think so. Freecad says it's fine apart from some folds on the surface which googling about locates several pages that say that folds on the surface are not a problem for 3d printing. Can anyone confirm that?
