Max Temp Error while printing Rafts.

Hello everyone,

Has anyone had this problem where everytime I start printing a part with a Raft, It would print the first layer, even though it prints it slow and jerky, then after first layer the extruder temp starts rising until it hits the Max Temp error and quits printing.

It only happens with parts which have a Raft. Have tried different STL files with same results. This started happening about a week ago, it used to print Rafts fast and without issues. Parts with or without support print fine.
Using Simplify3D on a Delta printer. Hope anyone has some suggestions.

Why don't you post your gcode file? It may also help to see the Communication output in the Machine Control Panel. It should be very easy to see what temperature commands the software is sending (just look for M104/M109 commands)

I took a look at the gcode for you. There is nothing odd between the last layer of the raft and the first layer of your part. That section looks normal. In fact, there is only 1 temperature command in the entire file and that sets the extruder temperature to 233C. So I don't see anything wrong with the gcode.

Now, on some of my printers, the PID temperature control is not very good, and the temperature fluctuates quite a bit. I've also had issues with massive temperature overshoots before (i.e. you tell the printer to go to 230C, but it has such poor temperature control built-in that it ends up overshooting to 250C before it eventually comes back down). So it's very possible some poorly tuned PID settings in the firmware are causing your overshoots (because there's nothing in the gcode that the software is creating that cause it!)
