In other software I've used the Gcode will automatically tell the bed to lower after the print is completed, so the hot print head doesn't sit on the model. Is there a setting similar to this in Simplify3D?

Sure. Just go to the Scripts tab and add one command at the bottom of your Ending Script.

G1 Z999 F3000 ; change Z999 to the maximum Z-height of your printer (for example Z150)

I think a G90 needs to go in as well as it worked too well on mine and went below the maximum level of my bed.

Hey, I came across this post and am having the same problem. I was wondering as a g-code baby if there is anyone out there who might help me resolve the same issue for my Craftbot3D + printer. The specs are here: https://www.3dhubs.com/3d-printers/Craftbot

Basically, the extruder tip sits on top of the print oozing and i wish i could just bring the bed down automatically.

Most advanced achieved:
M104 S0 ; turn off extruder
M140 S0 ; turn off bed
M107 ; turn off fan
M84 ; disable motors

Fail:
M104 S0 ; turn off extruder
M140 S0 ; turn off bed
M107 ; turn off fan
G28 ; home all axes
M84 ; disable motors

So far, as advanced as my ending scripts have gotten has been successfully turning off the fans at the end of the print and unsuccessfully ramming my extruder into my print by adding a G28 return to all home axis script.

I think the last post involved some retraction too, so the filament doesn't blob up ontop of the highest point but all this is very new and advanced for me.

Any help would be REALLY appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

Yes, a G28 is a "home all axes" command, so it's going to home your printer to the normal homing location (which for most of us would be very bad if we had a print on the bed).

If you want to lower the bed completely, why don't you just add a single G1 command to move to the max Z position. For example, if your printer's build volume had a Z-height of 120mm, add this command to your ending script:

I'm Running a Craftbot+, I use this at the end script to drop the bed.

M104 S0 ; turn off extruder
M140 S0 ; turn off bed
M84 ; disable motors
G0X0Y0Z200 ; GoHome and drop bed

Im a newby to Repetier and so when I went to get my first Rep print out I pressed the "home ALL" and the bed went up, jamming the model up against the rails..Im hoping they are not bent! So WARNING on the home All. Fortunately I killed pwr quickly.
