Two Different Printers From Simplify 3D

I now have a Flashforge Creator Dual and a Flashforge Creator Pro that I would like to be able to print to from Simpilfy 3d on the same Mac computer. I've heard of people doing similar, however I have not seen any details. I just got the Pro so I have been resetting Simpilfy 3d to change the printer profile to the other model when I wanted to change, but that erases all of my custom configurations.

Can someone tell me how to change printer models without erasing my custom configs or whatever the best way to print to two different printers from the same computer is? Ideally I'd like to be able to run two copies of Simpilfy 3d at the same time so I can print to both printers at the same time.

Thank you in advance!

You don't need to reset S3D just to change to the other printer profile. Click "Edit Process Settings" and click the "Select Profile" drop down list to see what profiles you have available. If you don't see the FFC Pro or FFC Dual, then go to Help --> Configuration Assistant and select the correct profile. At that point they will be present in the "Select Profile" drop down list.

Now, whenever you want to switch between profiles, just use the "Select Profile" drop down list to select the new printer. No need to reset the software. If you ever make changes to a profile and want to save them, then click the "Update Profile" button to permanently save those changes. I thought this video did a really good job of explaining how this works when I was first learning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZ7HFPY1wog

And for printing at the same time, I would strongly recommend using an SD card. It is always much more reliable than printing over USB.

Re: Two Different Printers From Simplify 3D

it's easier than that.

Once you've edited your profile - click the 'save as new' option. And give it the name of the printer and extruder (left or right) it's for. That way you can create as many custom profiles as you like.
Like you I have two slightly different printers and use custom profiles all the time.

And yep print from sd card is the way to go.
Currently got both printers working and when I switch my computer off and walk away - they''ll carry on by themselves :-)
