Hi community,
Is anyone else having issues with S3d creating slicing errors and reporting self-intersecting surfaces. I model and export my meshes from Rhinoceros 5.0. The mesh is created from Valid Closed Poysurface and 8/10 times I get this error from S3D. I check the mesh in Rhino and Rhino reports it's fine. I even tried to slice a model from Ultibots (the micro extruder body created in Alibre Design), and their STL had the same issues. Processing these files through netFabbs (Mircosoft) cloud service doesn't remove these self-intersecting surfaces. The same files slice fine in Cura and Slic3r.
Is anyone else having similiar issues? Did you figure what the problem was? Care to take a guess or have a theory and way to test it?
I have already contacted support at S3D, they showed little interest in helping me understand the issue, and simply told not use software which created "irreparable errors".
Any help is appreciated. Thanks,
Guy
