Simplify3D User Forum

I have contacted Astroprint and they would be willing to inter-grade with simplified3d, this would be a great feature. It would be nice to send gcode directly to my wifi printers from the simplified3d program.

Never used Astroprint, but I do something similar with Octoprint running on a Rasberry Pi over wifi. I wrote a small application called Octoprint Uploader that allows you to upload your gcode from Simplify3D to Octoprint via REST. It works great. It looks like Astrobox has a similar API, so this could be an option.

now astroprint is bit "dummbed down" so you can't directly see the octoprint underneath it but you can try to find directions on how to expose octoprint api on the astroprint box here: https://forum.astroprint.com/t/octoprin ... cess/180/3
I'm not sure how astroprint works (never tried it, octoprint works with wifi just ok for me) and what's underneath it, is it really octoprint part of it or not, especially as here: https://forum.astroprint.com/t/astropri ... ts-new/774 they state that "Because AstroPrint is NOT OctoPrint." so not sure is octoprint a subpart of astroprint or not... but on the link I gave ( https://forum.astroprint.com/t/octoprin ... cess/180/3 ) they say "We haven't yet used the Octoprint API outside of the AstroBox webapp itself" and "I actually got it working by copying an existing API key from another OctoPrint instance. So I guess this more boils down to the absence of a way to generate that key from AstroPrint." so I guess octoprint sits underneath astroprint and this hint on how to shoot the g-code directly from simplify3d to it should work 1/1
