Simplify3D User Forum

I had a large roll of PLA from a previous machine. I figured I'd use it up with the M3D.
I also just started using Simplify3D
New new PLA, which is the same size, works great, except the edges curl up an lift. I knew that was a problem with ABS, but not PLA.
I thought maybe it was happening from Simplify3D so I tried a print using just M3D and had the same problem.

The first, smaller part I made with this filament did work and that was with Simplify3D.
So Im assuming it has something to do with the filament and object size.
I looked at the settings that simplify3D uses for the M3D and it was pretty intimidating. i didnt mess with anything there.

Any ideas?

Edge curling/corner lifting is a common problem. It is caused by the slight contraction occurring in the plastic as it cools. I print only PLA on a printer with an unheated bed, and I tried several options to improve bed adhesion. The best solution I found is one of these:

2nd best is the wide 3M blue painter's tape. This tape has a slightly bumpy/textured surface and some sort of wax content that really sticks to hot plastic. Removing the finished part from the printbed/tape can be troublesome.

Things are different for heated beds - I no nothing about these.
