User Account

I have forgotten the password and email address I used to license S3D, so as a result I can't do a password reset on the S3D web site. It insists in requesting both the user name AND email address before issuing a password reset email. So I can't now re-install my licensed copy of S3D until the folks at S3D respond to my support request - hopefully that won't be too long, I'm down until that response is made.

I'm wondering why S3D want me to provide both my user name and email address to get a password reset? It seems to me that if you can supply the user name (which I do know), then the S3D system knows where to send the request to. That's the way that all other online systems I use work and S3D's arrangement is frustrating - and causes lost time for S3D staff who have to respond to requests that their system denies.

Re: User Account

That's pretty standard. Someone's username is usually publicly visible, so it can't be used as a security check. That's why they require the email address as well for verification. A lot of sites do this.

Anyways, there's a form you can use if you forgot your username: https://cloud.simplify3d.com/account/username/forgot

That will send your username to the registered email address. So assuming you own that email address, you can easily see what account the software was registered to.

Re: User Account

I found the serial number in the early hours this morning in an old backup, so problem resolved.

Over a period of time I have used different email addresses, so trying to provide both user name and email address would be problematical.
