Cannot print single wall test @ .4mm

Hi,

My nozzle diameter is .4mm....but simplify 3d wont generate any print preview using these settings on a .4mm single wall tube...unless I use some horizontal size compensation.

Why would it not generate output with a .4mm nozzle diameter (extrusion width @.4mm) and a .4mm wall thickness?

I would think that is within the tolerance.....I can see trying to print a .25 wall thickness with a .4mm nozzle being an issue...but I would think this would work

You print single thickness walls in S3D differently than other programs. So I have a feeling you're not setting it up the right way. Post your factory file and I can help with the setup! (file > save factory file)

Re: Cannot print single wall test @ .4mm

If your model is hollow and the wall is .4mm then remember that there is going to be an outer perimeter and and inner perimeter so the model wall will need to be 2x your extrusion width. There will always be a perimeter put on a surface so the wall has inner and outer. You can do a single wall test however by using a model of a solid cube set to zero top, bottom and infill with perimeters set to 1.

thanks for the response guys.....been too sick lately to give a proper response on the forums :)
Jimc: I see your point about inner and outer perimeter......that should be an option IMHO
