fist layer help. specific to S3D

I just build my first Delta. It has been homed to the thickness of a piece of paper. When I first tried to print the initial layer was set at .2mm but I got .11 which is the same as the paper I used. I then went into S3D to adjust first layer height with the percentage. 160% gave me the right thickness but I'm finding too much plastic being extruded. I have to dial the extrusion back to 50% in order to get the right amount. Once the first layer is finished I have to crank the extrusion back up to 100% for it to be right. There must be something screwed up with my S3D settings. I'm thinking I need to undo the tweaks to the first layer and just put in a line of starting gcode to raise the Z axis by .09mm. The other option is to just tell S3d not to print until .09mm but I think that might mess things up as well. Does this sound right? Is there something I am missing. S3D works so differently than my other slicers it sometimes confuses me.

You should use the global z-axis offset on the Gcode tab, not the first layer height. Only use the first layer height if you actually want that layer to be thicker.

Just enter a value of -0.09mm as your Z-axis gcode offset and the software should take care of everything
