Spiral mode adding unwanted islands when scaling up

I'm seeing some odd artifacts in S3D 3.x when I try to scale up these models for spiral mode:

I'm using Windows 8.1

I get this when I'm doing 175% or higher scaling.

Using cutaway view, those dots in the center of the round bodies don't seem to correspond to any geometry.

I've at least checked the rocket plane in Cura and it didn't exhibit the problem.

I cross-sectioned the model and I see a tiny little sliver in the middle of the rocket. It's pretty small but it looks like it goes up through most of the model. That's probably what's causing the problem. Perhaps they made this model with some poor CAD package that didn't properly boolean the sections together...

OK, I see it now. Ouch. Yeah, I've been having doubts about the software used before seeing this model, this isn't helping.

I did put it through Netfabb a few times but fixing that flaw is outside my current skills.

Did you download the RocketforScaling version of the download or the standard one? The text on Thingiverse states there's an issue scaling the original.

EDIT:

I've fixed the rocket file for you. Attached.....

AND ANOTHER EDIT:

I think I've sorted the rocket plane as well. Attached....

I think I tried all versions of each model.

I appreciate the fix-ups. It spirals so much better. Still a handful of starts and stops in S3D, I can't tell why just yet.

The designer did post a finer meshed version of the rocket plane last night, but it still seemed to have the same slivers. I was hoping it was an export problem that was fixed with a newer version of the program.
