Printing with HIPS on Lulzbot Mini question...

This is a noob question. I used the setup for my new Lulzbot Mini printer in Simplify3D, but I noticed there are no filament settings for HIPS to use in the Process file. I tried to use the ABS settings that I modified to use my HIPS settings in Cura with disastrous results. Is anyone using a Mini & HIPS with Simplify3D that could share some info? I read through the "Start Here, Print Quality Troubleshooting Guide" but it does not cover this. Here is a sample print photo. The print on the left was done with Cura on standard settings. The one on the right was done with Simpify3D on ABS Modified to approximate HIPS settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The biggest issue I see is stringing. That's explained in the quality guide. Fixing things like retraction settings, temperatures, and avoiding moving over open spaces will help a lot.

Thanks. I did go through Quality Guide and tried some of those adjustments. I did get a factory file from a a Mini user on the Lulzbot forum which worked better, but still not quite there. I'm going to try tweaking those settings some more and see if I can closer to the quality I'm getting in Cura. Here's a test I did with the Mini user's factory file on the left. It's getting closer. I'm curious if there are any Lulzbot Mini owners having better success with S3D and HIPS.

The print on the left looks much better, but it doesn't look like your first layer was sticking. That's why you see the few extra strands of plastic on the bottom. So you might want to adjust the z-axis gcode offset (read more here:

Other than that, there's still suggestions from the quality guide that I would recommend. It's really worth reading since relying on others to generate settings for you will only get you so far

Thanks, CompoundCarl, that is so true. I'm not looking for a handout, just a nudge in the right direction. I have read through the Quality Guide several times and reading through it again. It has actually been quite helpful for getting Cura dialed in and now my prints in Cura are looking pretty good as you can see in the photo below. It just surprises me how the settings I use in Cura don't work the same in S3D. I am getting good adhesion, so I'll just keep chopping away at each setting until the S3D prints get to the quality of the Cura prints. I'm just an impatient noob sometimes, but I know I'll get there eventually.
