Qidi Tech I Dual Extruder - Print Profile Issues

I recently received this Qidi Tech Dual Extruder printer from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SB6 ... 1_1&sr=8-1

In the reviews people mentioned that Simplify3D was the way to go for software using the Flashforge Creator Pro profile. When i chose this profile and start the bed leveling wizard it lined up my right extruder of of the edge of the build platform only on the right side, when it jogged over to the left side it seemed that it was more middle of the platform rather than left.

I decided to see what would happen if I tried to print and sure enough, the right extruder lined up about a quarter inch to the right of the platform and started spewing filament into empty space. After this it jogged to the middle of the build platform and tried to print. First off the extruder seemed to be scraping the bed so any filament that was able to squeeze though was a stringy mess. Secondly, the speed seemed to be way too fast and was apparently ignoring the 50% speed reduction for the first layer in the print profile. I changed the extrusion multiplier down from .9 to .1 which changed nothing really. Is this the same feed rate? Either way it seems this profile was not meant for this printer. I also verified that the bed size was set correctly to 230x150x150mm in the machine settings.

Now the strange thing is other people have commented that this is the profile they use and have no issue. It does seem that these folks have an older model printer though. This is a complete rip off of the Flashforge Creator Pro and has the exact same dimensions and parts used so it is made to work with the same profile settings.

I'm wondering if anyone has ordered this printer in the last month and successfully had it work with Simplify3D or not? If not, can anyone offer suggestions? I've tried various print profiles as well, none of which worked. I verified that the printer was functioning correctly by trying the ReplicatorG software that came with it and it printed out some calibration cubes perfectly so I know this is purely a software issue.

Each software package usually handles the first layer positioning slightly differently. That means that if you got the printer working correctly with software A, you may have to make a slight adjustment for the first layer when you print with software B. Thankfully, it's really easy to do in the software. I would recommend reading this: https://www.simplify3d.com/support/prin ... t-of-print. It explains what to do if the nozzle is too close to the bed.

I should also mention that the starting script for the FlashForge Creator Pro usually primes the extruder off the right side of the build platform, so if you saw it extruding plastic over there, it was probably intentional. After it primes the nozzle, it then moves onto the platform to start printing.

Hi,

I also just purchased the Qidi Tech clone 3d printer and I am trying to set up with Simplify3d; I am not having too much luck.

What are the correct settings for the build volume, homing directions, and axis mirror?

Can you get the machine to home?

First thing I would suggest is load the included software, I think it's ReplicatorG and Makerware, one of these, and I forget which, will get the USB driver installed and then test print.
Before installing look at what COM ports are available then look again after installing because a new one should have been added.

In S3D select the new COM port to use for the printer. In the machine control panel it will tell you if you successfully connect or not.

My first thought is a problem with what you are trying to print. Have you tried different files to see if they all do the same thing? Do you have the software set to extrude from the correct extruder? Try adding 4-5 skirt outlines and see if they start to print.

This happens when the nozzle is too close to the bed. Did you do the bed leveling with both the nozzles and the heated bed at the intended temperature? If you level the bed cold, the nozzle will be too close when heated.
