New printers UM2+ and UM2+ extended

Hello,

When will the new Ultimaker printers be added to the list of S3D?

There is an UM2+ and UM2+ extended now.

Normally I would select the UM2 extended but I have read this about the new plus models of Ultimaker :

at least the direction of the feeder motor has changed and there are some new (additional) material settings for different nozzle sizes.

So I don't think I can select an UM2 extended when I own a UM2 extended+?

Until I know for sure, I'm back to Cura

Yes, it's compatible. There's almost no changes needed from the previous profiles since very little was changed.

Most of the changes are handled in the firmware, so it doesn't require lots of software changes.

I just bought a UM2+ and Simplify3D. I tried to use the UM2 profile which works well it seems, but I haven't tested too much yet. Are there any obvious changes in the profile I need to change for the UM2+? I installed the newest firmware with Cura.

Can we expect an update of Simplify3D with UM2+ profile soon?

I am not aware of ANY changes that are required for the UM2+ vs the UM2. They should use identical software settings as far as I can tell

That makes sense. It prints fine, but I have no previous experience with printing until now, so I'm not the best to judge the quality. But then I assume it's fine

I bought a UM2+ and us the UM2 profile. I think there are some minor differences as I have had to play around with the settings especially the extrusion rate. I'm down to 0.9 on that one.

the feeder is very different to the UM2 so I suspect there could be some tweaks fo the steps/mm

All of the steps/mm changes for the new feeder are set in the firmware, not in the software. So that does not require any software changes.

It's normal to have to make small adjustments with the extrusion multiplier for pretty much any printer you use. I usually have to make small adjustments there even as I change filaments!
