Vertical Lift on Tool Change Query?

Hello all i am new to this forum and was wandering if anyone could help me out.

Currently been printing with dual extruders on a Leapfrog Creatr HS and have noticed that on Tool Change the nozzle that was printing sits against the part when the change is happening. This in turn means that area starts to melt slightly ultimately detracting from the print quality.

Does anyone know what G-Code lines i can add to the following Tool Change Script so that the build plate lowers before change happening keeping the nozzle of the part.

G1 E-4 F3000 ; tool change retract
T[new_tool]
G1 E4 F3000 ; tool change prime

Your help will be much apreciated as i am not yet familiar with g-code and if i am honest finding it difficult to find reference material to help learn.

Thank you in advance :)

Re: Vertical Lift on Tool Change Query?

Can't you just use the retraction vertical lift option on the Extruders tab?

Otherwise, it would just be a simple G1 command in relative movement mode (i.e. after a G91)

Re: Vertical Lift on Tool Change Query?

Thank you for you suggestion.

I have tried that however it doesn't seem to do it on tool change for some reason.

I will try your suggestion.
