I have used S3D for a little bit more than a year with a lot of good results. There is just one big problem and that’s blobs and oozing.
In the latest version of S3D there are a couple of more possibilities for fine tuning the retracts. Maybe it's not the best way to solve the problem. If we look at the picture below (from S3D slicer) we can see a lot of fast travels at open areas.
If we compare the same part sliced by Cura (pic below) it looks quite different. As much as possible of the fast transports take place over printed area where some oozing doesn’t matter. Because of this the number of retracts are drastically reduced.
Is there some more setting I have missed or is it a programming issue?
S3D has a lot of advantages compared with Cura, but until the number of retracts are reduced I will make most prints through Cura.
My printer is Ultimaker 2
