is teh software still being developed?

iirc the last update was 3.0.2 and that was a long time ago.
When will there be a new version?

Re: is teh software still being developed?

I've exchanged several emails with their support team recently, and it's clear that there's definitely still a lot of development going on. It sounds like there's another big release in the works. So I'm sure we will see something soon.

If you want to talk with the employees directly, you can email them here: https://www.simplify3d.com/contact-us/

It would have been nice if the S3D team would share some information along the way, though. A lot of people are of course curious about this, myself included.

I'm very curious as well, S3D has been a daily driver for me and I love the software but I'm wondering when the next major update will be! I see so much potential that can be unlocked. I'm surprised I haven't seen more posts in here asking about it.

The only people who announce hard release dates for s/w updates before they are actually completed (or ready for beta testing) are the ones who like to have people angry with them. :D Almost nobody finishes when expected, and there's always some ignoramus who thinks "anticipated release date" means "promised release date", and "we are working on it" means "we are promising it the way you want it", when it really means "we'd like to get it working, but can't promise anything".

...although I never really understood the idea of releasing numerous unrelated updates all at once. The way I write code is a little at a time, and I always (try to) get one section completed before moving on to another. (Unless, of course, you charge for every update...)

I'm fully aware of what you are saying here (also a developer), but there is always a middle road. At the very least, the strategy you mention in your last paragraph is a good one. This is how Onshape works. Every few weeks they release some new features, which is cool. Inbetween they also roll out bug fixes.
Being cloud based, they are of course in a different position, but there is no reason for desktop based apps like S3D to employ a similar strategy.

Just confirmation that they've fixed/are fixing some of the bugs (e.g. bridging outline issues), and perhaps developing a few new features would be great.

I'm holding off purchasing this for work until this happens, and possibly until support for one of our printers occurs hopefully(an Up Box, which is currently not supported but winning lots of awards it seems...).

Re: is teh software still being developed?

The UpBox probably isn't ever going to be supported. All the Up printer use their own proprietary system for USB communication which makes them incompatible with all 3rd party programs. So you will be waiting for a while ;)
