<postProcessing> Does not work in autoConfigureMaterial

Hello,

I was trying to have some post processing lines that automatically change when I select another material.

This is what I added:
<autoConfigureMaterial name="PLA">
<temperatureController name="Primary Extruder">
<temperatureNumber>0</temperatureNumber>
<isHeatedBed>0</isHeatedBed>
<relayBetweenLayers>0</relayBetweenLayers>
<relayBetweenLoops>0</relayBetweenLoops>
<stabilizeAtStartup>1</stabilizeAtStartup>
<setpoint layer="1" temperature="230"/>
</temperatureController>

<globalBedTemperature>50</globalBedTemperature>
<globalExtrusionMultiplier>1</globalExtrusionMultiplier>
<fanSpeed>
<setpoint layer="1" speed="0"/>
</fanSpeed>
<minSpeedLayerTime>5</minSpeedLayerTime>
<minFanLayerTime>20</minFanLayerTime>
<defaultSpeed>15000</defaultSpeed>
<firstLayerUnderspeed>0.3</firstLayerUnderspeed>
<filamentDiameter>1.75</filamentDiameter>
<filamentPricePerKg>34</filamentPricePerKg>
<filamentDensity>1.23</filamentDensity>
<postProcessing>{REPLACE "G92 E0" "M203 E5.0\nG92 E0"} ; change M203 E value to maximum mm/s feedrate for this filament type},{REPLACE "G1 E-" "M203 E16\nG1 E-"}</postProcessing>
</autoConfigureMaterial>
Everything is working, except for the <postProcessing> line.
When I import this FFF file, and export it again, the <postProcessing> line just disappeared.

So what I'm trying to do with this post processing code is to set an E feedrate limit for each type of filament. The code works fine, but I just can't get it to automatically change when I select another material.
Will this feature, of setting a maximum feedrate which does not compromise retraction speed, be added in the future?

Another problem:
Like you see above, in "autoConfigureMaterial" I only have one temperatureController, which is the "Primary Extruder".
For some reason when I export my FFF file again, another temperatureController is always being added:
<temperatureController name="Chamber">
<temperatureNumber>2</temperatureNumber>
<isHeatedBed>0</isHeatedBed>
<relayBetweenLayers>0</relayBetweenLayers>
<relayBetweenLoops>0</relayBetweenLoops>
<stabilizeAtStartup>1</stabilizeAtStartup>
<setpoint layer="1" temperature="110"/>
</temperatureController>
This just comes out of nowhere! I also would never want to set the chamber temperature to 110C!
Luckily this strange code which it adds, is not working. When I switch from PLA to ABS, or the other way around, that temperature setting just stays like I want it and it's not changed to 110C.

So I edited the FFF file, removed every <temperatureController name="Chamber"> block in all of the temperatureControllers. Saved it, imported it, exported again to see and oh yes, it just randomly added all those Chamber controllers again?!

Any thoughts on this? Thanks (;

Re: <postProcessing> Does not work in autoConfigureMaterial

I don't think you can have comments in the post-processing box, so that might be messing things up there (remove the ; stuff)

For the chamber temperature controller, make sure you search the file and delete the chamber temperature controller EVERYWHERE if you don't need it. It might be in there 3 or 4 times, so keep searching till you have removed every one.

Finally, after you save and re-import the FFF profile, make sure you actually select it from the "Select profile" drop down. It's usually at the very bottom of the list and may be called something like MyProfile(2) (meaning it's a second version of MyProfile). It's easy to select the wrong one (i.e. MyProfile without the 2 at the end), and then be confused why the changes didn't work. That's caught me a few times before.

Oh yes! It was indeed the comment that may not be added to the post processing code.
As soon as I removed it, the "Another problem:" from my previous post also stopped happening (;
Thanks a lot!

So would an "maximum extruder feedrate" option be added in the future?
It would be really handy!

You are welcome to go request that in the feature requests section if that's something you are interested in

Re: <postProcessing> Does not work in autoConfigureMaterial

I'm having another problem:

the Ending gcode should also be different for other materials,
so I do exactly the same as I did before: exporting my FFF profile, copying this line:

Code: Select all

  <endingGcode>M104 S260 ; set extruder temperature,M106 S0 ; disable fans,G1 Y0; goto position,M84 ; disable motors</endingGcode>
to all of the autoconfigurematerial sections

when I import it again, it does not work (it's just one global ending gcode that doesn't change when I select another material)
And if I export again to see what happened, the lines which I added, are all gone ..
I tried the same thing without comments in the code (because previous time that fixed my problem) but it doesn't work this time :/
any ideas?
