Extrusion speed

Not sure I am on the right track here.
I have a E3D lite hotend with a wade type extruder in a bowden configuration.
With the idler on the extruder tightened just so the filament feeds, after the first couple of layers the extruder starts to click as though the nozzle can't let enough filament pass, so the filament is trying to push back hence the clicking, tighten the idler until clicking stops the the filament builds up in the extruder and the tubing and the flow stops or is very intermittent.
Anybody experienced this , and am I thinking along the right lines, if so how can I cure it. Thanks

Extruder_reel combo.factory
factory file
(135.46 KiB) Downloaded 311 times
.
Seems as this had a lot to do with the filament, which had been standing on the printer for a couple of months or more. But I am still having major problems with gaps between each run.as test runs I have been using four perimeters and there is distinct gaps between them, the settings I have are.
Nozzle .4
Extruder multiplier 1.0
Extruder width 0.5
layer height 0 .2
1st layer height 90%
1st layer width 100%
1st layer speed 40.
What would yo suggest I change.
also when I save the gcode it is leaving out parts, have attached the factory file
the three top right hand pieces are being left out of the gcode.Any known reason why this should be.

Re: Extrusion speed

The mesh on the part RHS at the back that you say is missing has some very bad errors in it. The centre section is non-manifold and there are other errors. I've tried separating it out and then uploading to the Netfabb repair service....but it won't upload due to an invalid character.

I don't have a Bowden style printer....so I can't offer any guidance on resolving your print issues....

Re: Extrusion speed

Thanks Doug for taking the trouble to try and resolve the problem, I will see if I can remake the items.
The frame bit in the center is of no consequence now, I have built it out of Acrylic.
