Printing cylindrical objects

I am using a MacBook Pro running El Capitan (10.11.3), printing on a Replicator 2 with makerbot PLA. I am printing in a controlled environment (70F/45%rPH). I have tried nearly 300 different settings and I am still seeing areas of under extrusion. The print is using different start point on each layer because I do not want any sort of seam. I cannot use vase mode because the override that it does results in a very poor print. I have adjusted (in all sorts of combinations) temperature, extrusion multiplier, coasting, wiping, extra restart distance, retraction distance and speed, default print speed, outline underspeed, infill settings, and extrusion width. I even tried to trick it by inputting a different nozzle diameter (it is in reality a 0.4 mk8). I also measured my filament with calipers and input the actual size (1.77mm). At this point I am unable to find a sweet spot to control blobs/zits and prevent under extrusion.

Attached are some photos and the latest factory file.

I did try several of the solutions that were suggested on the print quality guide published on the S3D website without success. I was also surprised that it does not show before and after photos of the problems with a resolved print. I understand that there are several different printers and an abundance of materials coming from different manufacturers with varying formulations, but just an example of what could be accomplished utilizing the suggested changes to parameters would be very pleasing (and promising) to users.

Thanks for any help!

Re: Printing cylindrical objects

That actually looks pretty good to me! I'd say you're really close to having it perfect!

For the few remaining tiny blobs that appear, I would watch the printer really closely to see if those blobs appear when the printer starts printing the perimeter, or do they only show up once it is finishing that loop. If they are present right from the very start, then I would keep making your extra restart distance a larger negative number.
