Hi,

This is an option in Cura: You can print infills before perimeters. While it might not be very obvious where that would help, I think that in practice it is an efficent way to prevent blobs on the surface. Cura increases the Z height when it is on the infill, so any blob formed stays in the infill. Then , the infill is directly connected to the perimeter, so the transition is invisible and there is no blob on the surface (or really minimal). It would be nice to have this option in Simplify3D.

I'm pretty sure Slic3r also has this feature. It would be great if S3D as well.

Is this really not a function? I cant believe it doesnt exist in a software that supposedly is more advanced than for example slic3r and cura.
I have used all 3 and both slic3r and cura has this function.

imo if you are using more then one perimeter it will print from outside to inside or from inside to outside ... in case from inside to outside you get the same benefit as with "infill first" and you can print infill after perimeter and get it to stick better to the perimeter so it's actually better then cura's "infill first" (if it works the way I figured inside out would be best, you get perimeter closest to infill first, then rest of the perimeters then infill... now I might be wrong as I assume it works like that, never actually tested the theory )

I don't prevent blobs, because I don't have one, BUT I have an Dual Extruder with one nozzle. Now I can use a Prime Pillar or the Ooze Shield. But I guess the nozzle could get clean with infill 1st also. That would have more benefits in some cases. I know if I have an small object the nozzle could be still dirty from the old color, but in some case it would prevent trash filament.

I bet it's easy to implement this feature in this awesome software.

I have the same dual extruder issue mentioned above. I have a pretty big (much bigger than I'd like) prime pillar, but alternating white and red filament, it takes a LOT of printing to go back to completely white. Infill first would be a great way to create more attractive prints and save wasted filament.
