Hi Guys


I'm wondering if this feature actually works ? cause i've been tryout and i still get my prints done in layers and not object by object even though i've selected the object by object option in the window prompted.

Sequential printing is not ...and cannot be...true object by object printing, due to the physical limitations of the printer hardware. Its a compromise designed to reduce the amount of stringing between parts...and it does work!

I still can get it to work, i am at the windows which i can select the continuous printing or object by object and i've set the clearance and it still print together in the same layer.

Please some body help Am i doing anything wrong here ? My object is just 5 mm height and i've set 20mm clearance and i want it to print object by object to avoid stringing but it still print all at one go.

I know its noy that clear, but you need to read the guide more closely!! There has to be one process for each part you want printing separately. You have 7 parts and 2 processes!!

In Slic3r i can simply do it with a single setting.

You can save your settings by clicking "update profile" in the process settings. This allows you to create new processes with exactly the same settings as your current ones. After you have done that you want to create a process for each of the models and select only one model per process. While you can do it in slic3r but the process model simplify uses is much more flexible. After you have created and assigned a process for and to each model you want to click "prepare to print". There you can select between multiple options, one of which is object by object printing. You need to specify how high you want to print each model in one go before switching to the next one. Keep this low enough so that your printer doesn't hit an already built model when switching and printing another one. This is VERY important or you might damage your printer.

While it may seem more complicated this approach allows for much much greater flexibility in print settings. Imagine one object printed in spiral mode and the other at 50% but with a smaller layer height.

Firstly....this is NOT Slic3r!! So forget about how its done in that package!

For multiple object printing ....for example 4 identical objects....you need:

Models: Model, Model_copy1, Model_copy2, and Model_copy3
....where each of the three copies is identical to the original

Processes: Process1, Process1_copy1, Process1_copy2, and Process1_copy3
....where each of the three process copies is identical to the original

Edit the process Process1 so that it only applies to the model called Model. Do the same for the three copies...but link copy 1 to copy 1, copy 2 to copy 2, etc

When printing, select all the processes and check the Sequential printing checkbox. Ensure you have the max height clearance set so not to allow the print head or carriage hit any object on the bed as per the warning above by d353rt.

You will get sequential printing......

Thanks for the steps man, it's much clearer this way . They should have done it in the online support section
