Simplify3D stops working

I bought Simplify3D a few weeks ago, the software keeps crashing.
I run Windows 7 on a i5 CPU and 8 Gb RAM, on a SSD. There should be plenty of ressources, but the software keeps crashing on me.
Often when I try to save a new profile, the software stops working.

Any ideas what I can do about it would be greatly appreciated.

I can't say I've ever had this problem. If I were you, I would export any profiles I need and then go to File > Reset All Settings. That will get everything back to stock condition.

I agree. I had that problem and it turned out to be a corrupted profile that messed up the storage in the Windows Registry.

Exporting all of the profiles I cared about, then doing the Reset All Settings fixed it for me.

It'll also erase all your stored profiles, which is why you need to save them first.

I never found out what caused a profile to get corrupted, but I *suspect* it was from editing the contents of a profile while the S3D was controlling the printer via the USB port as it was printing.

So now if I've got a print running via the USB port, I don't ever touch or change a profile until the print's completed, and the problem hasn't happened again.
