Time to print to layer X

When viewing the G-Code in layer mode, its great to know what layer a specific thing is at, so you can use a M0 command to pause the print job, so you can do things like insert something inside the print before its printed over (like a Nut) or just so you know when (at your M0) you have to swap out filament for a color change.

The problem is that this G-Code preview doesn't give a time or event an Estimate of what time that layer occurs at.

I know at the end of a G-Code comply S3D puts a estimate of the total printer time/plastic/etc. but is there any reason you can't add the print time to each layer comment in the G-Code? (both as a How long this layer takes to print, and how long its taking to print up to this layer. [i.e discrete and cumulative])

Right now its a hassle as I have to modify the profile to have no top layer, and stop printing at X mm, and get the estimated print time like that. But it should be doable to add time information for each layer.

Yes ... I know... Time for this is just an estimate. motor jerk factor/etc. But for those that have put the correct parameters in (and my 23 hour 48 estimate print job took 23 hour 52 means I might have them for my settings), know this is something I really need.
