Select 'Start point' directly in 3D view

Dear all,

in S3D (V3.1) under the 'Layers' tab there is an area called 'Start points'.
For the option 'Choose startpoints close to specific location' one can set an X and Y value.
But in the 3D view neither I can see coordinates where my object is located nor where my mouse is.
(correct me if I am wrong)

I wish to have a visual solution for this. In the 3D view I want to click on the model and S3D should take this point as location where the start and endpoint of the layers is. This point should be followed vertically for all layers above/below.

Thanks...

I've spent a lot of time crunching numbers and using trial and error to make this get an exact start point....
