What is the 'Emergency stop' button 'Force next' button for?

Dear all,

can anyone please tell me what is the 'Emergency stop' button and the 'Force next' button for?
(The 'Force nex' button is the grey button below the yellow 'Emergency stop' button in the upper right corner of the 'Machine control panel')

What gets stopped if I hit the 'Emergency stop' button? Is it the nozzle movement, the built plate heating, the nozzle heating?
And what happens if I hit the 'Force next' button?

Thanks!

Emergency stop should stop everything - printing, heating, moving, etc. Most printers support it, but you should test yourself to be sure.

Force next is just used if the printer isn't responding to the software and you want to forcefully send another command even through the printer hasn't said it is ready yet.

@CompoundCarl,

thanks for reply. You said:

'...send another command...'

what other command you mean? Where does this command come from?

It's only used when you're running a USB print and streaming lots of commands

Re: What is the 'Emergency stop' button 'Force next' button

Example:

Emergency Stop: My Wanhao i3 print has gone horribly wrong. When I hit Force Stop, it restarts the printer (essentially power cycles it)

Force Next: Often times Simplify3D over USB will heat my bed, but fails to heat the extruder (The software fails to detect the temperature of the bed when it reaches the specified temperature) So I click force next which sends the next command to start heating the extruder,

As said before it only happens over USB.

my Monoprice branded Wanhao i3 does exactly the same as you described above... what's the deal with that??? I found Force Next and got my 1st print going but is what's wrong? Is there a legitimate fix for that?
