Change infill on a horizontal basis?

I have read how to change infill % based on height above the platform. But is there a way to change infill for parts that stick out horizontally?
My model builds best in one particular orientation. Every other that I have tried requires a lot of support. But three parts stick out horizontally that I would like to strengthen. If I could slice the model along the YZ plane and adjust the parameters based on that then that would do the trick.
Is this possible?
