Switching off HBP on Flashforge Creator Pro 2016

I'm having trouble switching off the HBP. The software tells me to set the temp to 0 to disable the heated plate but if I do that (or indeed any temp below ambient) the printer sits in "pre-heating" (seemingly actually trying to attempt 0 degree temp on the build plate) and never progresses.

I've tried commenting out and removing the plate temp set up lines in the gcode startup and it just heats the extruders then hangs. Removing the plate temperature setting altogether has the same effect.

I'm probably missing something obvious but any ideas?
Thanks!

I would start by checking the gcode file that S3D creates (it will export a .gcode and .x3g file). Open the gcode file in a text editor and look for any M140 commands. That way you can verify what temperature you are telling the bed to go to (for example M140 S90 is bed heat to 90 degrees).

If that's correct and there aren't any other M140 commands, then you are probably setting the temperature correctly. Then you just have to figure out why the printer is getting stuck. Maybe at that point it would be helpful to post a communication log from the machine control panel.

Might also try disabling the option "Wait for temperature controller to stabilize" as well as removing the temperature command. Then it should hopefully take whatever temperature command it's given and just not wait for it to reach temp.

Another approach would be to just set the bed temp to something like 30°C (just a bit above ambient) and let it stabilize.

Thanks for the replies

I've tried disabling the "wait for temperature to stabalize" and it still just stops, as well as taking out the 140 command for the bed itself. Which is odd.

Yeah the short term solution has been indeed to set the temp to 30degrees which works but feels kinda wrong.

I'll check out the communication log and see if anything obvious is going on.

Re: Switching off HBP on Flashforge Creator Pro 2016

The standard Ending Script I have contains:
; **** Replicator 1 dual end.gcode ****
M73 P100 ; end build progress
G1 Z150 F1000 ; send Z axis to bottom of machine
M140 S0 T0 ; cool down HBP
M104 S0 T0 ; cool down right extruder
M104 S0 T1 ; cool down left extruder
M127 ; stop blower fan
G162 X Y F3000 ; home XY maximum
M18 ; disable stepper
M72 P1 ; play Ta-Da song
; **** end of end.gcode ****
When my prints are done everything cools down automatically.
So the M140 S0 T0 does tell the HBP to stop heating and does not hang.
Not sure where you are trying to use that command. But I use it as is at the end of a print and it does work and I get the Ta-Da song.
I have the FCP 2016.

I apologize for replying to such an old post, but....

I also have the FCP 2016 but this exact same code in my default end script, but the bed is not going all the way to the bottom. I wonder if the numbers are off?
