- speed reduction for the last top solid layer
- brim on all sides of the model (for example a ring or a tube)
- speed reduction if perimeter is shorter than "X"mm
- calculate support material (to see, how you can save material)

Agree, slower speed on top layers, and avoid crossing top layers as it often leaves a line.
