G-Code Z offset not working

Hey everyone!

New to the forum, not that new to 3D printing. Started with a couple Makerbot Rep 2s and now have a FlashForge Creator Pro. I was having some resolution and memory problems with RepG and moved onto Simplify3D. I have yet to have a successful print with S3D. :?

I use BuildTak, which is a new method for me. I used to use the ABS/Acetone mix with great results but wanted something less toxic and easier to manage and cleanup. Well, I can't get the Simplify3D Software to properly space the Z axis 0.25-0.3 mm off the print bed. It is TOO CLOSE every single time, no matter what I try. I've used the G-Code Global Offset, put the machine Z home 0.3 mm down (tried both positive and negative values), tried updating the machine definition origin offset, and have even tried raising the model 0.3 mm upon setup.

What am I doing wrong? I spent $150 for this software and can't get it to work properly. I have spent approximately 72 hours debugging and testing new parameters and I'm at a loss. The software does NOT properly control the machine.

Running SailFish 7.7. I've attached the snips of my setup below, PLEASE HELP!

I have the same printer and the global Z-axis offset most definitely works. So if you are still too close, just keep increasing that value. Set it to 1mm or 2mm or whatever you need to print high enough.

Keep in mind that the z-axis offset won't affect and hard-coded XYZ values in your starting script, so wait until it starts printing the actual part to see if you think it's at the correct height.
