Missing layers in 3D Benchy print

I was troubleshooting this for a bit over at the Prusa3D forum, until I realized that it was Simplify3D generating faulty Gcode (or a setting I've somehow changed to result in the faulty Gcode.

Prusa Form Post for reference: http://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/print-tip ... t1988.html

Summary is, trying to print 3D Benchy, print gets up to the "Bridge Walls" and the back wall part fails, very week, appears to be no adhesion. I changed the temperature a couple times, isolated that part which printed great on it's own. Attempted to reprint the entire model again with the new temperature settings and the same result.

I started looking at the toolpath preview and noticed that it is indeed skipping layers:

How did I do this? Or is there something I need to change to fix this?

If I print that part by itself, it doesn't get sliced this way:

Help?

I've seen several threads with the exact same behavior. There's some problems with that STL file, so most people just ran it through netfabb or something and then it sliced fine afterwards

It looks like you're using one of the benchy models that's a bunch of different meshes stuck together. Go to Mesh –> Separate Connected Surfaces and it will likely work better. A good writeup about this is here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3177

Thanks! I'm having the same problem. I will have to try these suggestions.

This forum is a great resource.
