DittoPro Support & Internet question

According to your compatibility checker all I needed to do is choose my printer in the drop down list (I have a screen shot if you would like of where it says that). Nothing from tinkerine is showing up. So where is it or what settings am I supposed to put in to "other" . I have no idea what kind if "robot" I have and such. Hopefully these settings and such will show up for other people that may need them in the future.

Also I have a screen shot from the FAQ saying v3 you can run offline and that it only needs an active internet to get profile information or to check for activation and update periodically. How do I put it in offline mode when I do not need any cloud junk extras? So far it refuses to start even once if it can not phone home. That is not was was advertised.

Once again it seems paying customers are hurt more than the unmentionables

This is not cheap software. One would think at least the creators of the software could get things correct on their own site.

Rant Over & Hoping for a useful reply as student printing has already been suspended until I was able to find time to get and test better software that would cause less waste and my time lost preparing. :|

Re: DittoPro Support & Internet question

I would try contacting them to ask for the profile: https://www.simplify3d.com/contact-us/

They have sent me many profiles that were already completely setup, but perhaps weren't popular enough to be in the configuration assistant.

As for your other question, I use it all the time when I'm offline and traveling, but I don't think you can't use it if the computer is permanently disconnected from the internet. So is the machine you're using going to have normal internet access?

Re: DittoPro Support & Internet question

Normally the machine is connected. But our internet is iffy much of the time. Do not need the issues of being locked out when I need the program to work. Also prefer to not annoy our school IT person with some non-standard program constantly connecting every-time it starts when it should have no reason to; bringing up the question of, if the program can be trusted.

Funny should have really noticed how dead these forums are to expect the company to actually look at their own discussion groups.

Thanks for the reply CompoundCarl. This was software number 3 in 1 day not going as expected....

Re: DittoPro Support & Internet question

I have had several internet outages and I've been able to use the software every time. Also used it many times when I'm traveling, on a plane, etc. So if you're just talking about temporary outages, it shouldn't be a problem.
