Simplify3D setting build volume to zero

Recently, my Simplify3D (version 3.1.1 running on Mac OS Sierra 10.12.1) has started resetting the build volume to zero.

That is, if you open the Simplify3D Preferences panel and click on the "Machine" table, the dimensions for the X, Y, and Z axes are all shown as "0.00" mm.

I notice this when the program claims that I can't print a model because it exceeds build dimensions.

I can go through the configuration assistant and re-select my machine (Makergear M2), but it's getting annoying. Is there something I can do to fix this?

Is it possible that you have a process with the machine settings override turned on? That will override what's in the Tools > Options, Machine tab view every time the profile is used or saved. So that could explain why it keeps switching.

That sounds reasonable, and I would check it had I any idea where "machine settings override" is. I have been through all the tabs in the process settings dialog and don't see anything like this, but it's certainly possible I'm overlooking it.

The problem does seem to be pinned to one specific profile, but I can switch to another profile (the default Makergear M2 profile), and then switch back, and continue with no problem.

It's on the G-Code tab, the "Update machine definition" section

Hm. If I reset the machine definition, it creates a new profile for me ("Makergear M2 v4"), checks that box in the profile, and has the build volume hard coded there.

The problematic profile has the check box unchecked.

So I checked it and set the X, Y, and Z-axis dimensions to the same as the default profile provided for my machine, and that seems to work. Thanks!
