What happened here? (Photo)

Never had this particular issue. Seems everything was going fine then this.
The bottom 1/2 inch or so printed normally, there should have been another inch that looked exactly like the bottom part that printed ok.
Instead the upper last inch came out as a bird's nest.
This exact same file printed fine previously so I don't think it's the x3g file

Photo verified working on several independent devices.
If you can't see it please check your computer or device for blocks or issues.
For example, the NoScript add-on for Firefox will block forum images

My first guess would be a partially clogged nozzle.

My guesses :
- clogged nozzle
- tangled filament in the spool
- spool is not spinning freely

Thanks for the suggestions.
I'm going to disassemble the extruder this weekend and see if there's a clog.

What causes a clog at the nozzle? Never had one before in over 1000 hours of printing.

I would have though that anything that makes it as far as the nozzle would just melt and go through (assume it's PLA or some meltable material)?
