Hi,
I am using version 3.1.1 and I started to notice when I import assemblies with multiple STL files, the origins are messed up and it wont align the models properly. I have tested the same models in makerware and it brings them in properly. please help
I have attached my models, the columns should line up properly with my grid but it does not!
Thanks

Untick "Automatically center & arrange imported models" in the Models tab of General Options, and try importing again.

Or even better, select the parts and go to Edit > Align Selected Model Origins, like they do in this video:

I tried that couple of times before seeking help here and it didn't work, the problem is by that auto alignment option ticked, it shifts the models and you'd never be able to align them properly. Once that is unchecked, the option you just mentioned is the best way to do it.
Thanks again

Hmm... works fine for me. I can import 5 parts, and even if the "automatically center and arrange" option is checked, I just go to Edit > Align Selected Model Origins after importing them and they get repositioned to where I want.

It works fine for me too except with the model I had attached earlier. I reproduced those files couple of times to make sure the issue is not caused by corrupted file or something, but it didn't help and to confirm, I imported the very same files into maker ware and it aligned them just fine, so I concluded there is something wrong with my simplify 3D, anyways it's resolved now and I really appreciate your help, you saved me so much hassle my friend.
Cheers
